What are your operating hours?
We are open from Monday-Friday from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm
Are you open to the public?
Yes, but we only sell trees by reservation or on a contractual basis. Please contact us before any visit.
What types of trees do you grow?
Primarily Black Spruce, White Spruce, Jack Pine, and White Pine. Occasionally Red Spruce, Red Pine and Sugar Maple
What are your methods of payment?
Cash or cheque, we do not have a debit machine or accept credit cards
Can I buy trees individually?
The seedlings are only available for purchase in multi-cell containers of 25, 45 or 67 trees.
What size are the trees that you sell?
Our seedlings range in height from 15-45 cm tall. All of our trees are less than 2 feet tall.
Do you sell any other nursery products? (ex. ornamental shrubs, plants, growing materials, tools, etc.)
We only sell tree seedlings as listed above and do not resell any of our growing materials.
Do you plant trees?
No, we do not have any staff available for outside projects.

Tree planting information

For guidelines on what tree species would work best for your specific soil type, please consult the following descriptions. They also provide information on expected heights, longevity, and spacing requirements. This is the same information we use to answer any questions we receive by phone or email.
Red Pine
  • Grows up to 80 feet tall
  • Life span is 100+ years
  • Grows well in infertile, well drained, sandy/gravelly soils
  • Needs full sunlight
  • Plant at 8’ spacing
  • Grows 2-3 feet per year once established
  • Grows well with white pine and aspen
Jack Pine
  • Grows up to 65 feet tall
  • Life span is 80+ years
  • Grows well in many different soil types (sandy, gravelly etc.)
  • Needs full sunlight
  • Grows in pure stands or with birch, aspen or red pine
  • Plant at 6’ spacing
White Pine
  • Grows up to 115 feet tall
  • Life span is 100+ years
  • Grows best in well drained to moist sand and loams
  • Tolerates shade when young
  • Plant at 6’ spacing
  • Grows 2-3 feet per year once established
  • Grows well with red pine, maple, ash, and beech
White Spruce
  • Grows up to 80 feet tall
  • Life span is 100+ years
  • Grows best in well drained, mostly silty soils. Tolerates poorly drained and heavy soils. Avoid dry sites
  • Needs full sunlight
  • Slow initial growth, then 1-2 feet per year once established
  • Plant at 8’ spacing
  • Grows well with many species
Black Spruce
  • Grows up to 50 feet tall
  • Life span is 100+ years
  • Grows well in poorly drained to well drained sites
  • Moderately shade tolerant
  • Plant at 8’ spacing
  • Grows well with tamarack, white pine, balsam fir and jack pine
Red Spruce
  • Grows up to 80 feet tall
  • Life span is 100+ years
  • Grows best in well drained, moist silty soils
  • Very tolerant of shade, best planted under taller trees or small openings
  • Plant at 8’ spacing
  • Grows well with white pine, balsam fir, yellow birch, and sugar maple
